Grandfather Clock & Typewriter Puzzle
Inside the Oddities room, there is a typewriter that prints a riddle about a wizard. You must use cardinal directions (South, North) as clock face positions, and add/subtract 'paces' (hours) to find the combination.
Solution Steps
- Find the typewriter handle in the drawer beneath the typewriter and attach it.
- Read the printed poem.
- Clue 1: 'One pace past due south'. South is 6 o'clock. One pace past is 7.
- Clue 2: 'A couple paces past north's flame'. North is 12 o'clock. A couple (2) paces counter-clockwise is 10.
- Clue 3: 'Town named Fore'. This is a literal pun for the number 4.
- Go to the Grandfather Clock and enter the code: 7, 10, 4.

The exact poem reads: 'Once there was a wizard who came from old Snakemouth. Went clockwise round the mountain landed one pace past due south. Done shopping at Lumtown trekked back the way he came. Rune in hand the man ended a couple paces past north's flame. At sunset with bag and sword the wizard made for the east. His goal was the town named Fore beyond fields of evil beasts.'
